Since 1995, Drama Arts has strived to provide Students and the community with drama training and productions that are fun, comprehensive, meaningful and challenging. Creating an environment that fosters people from all walks of life to take ownership over their ability to create theatre that represents meaningful change. At Drama Arts, we do not only provide people with the skills that are vital for a performance, we provide skills and memories that can be used for the rest of their lives.
We believe in the power of theatre to radically change lives, we believe in offering quality education programmes and exposing audiences to quality theatre productions. Most importantly we believe in the potential of all who work with us and take the utmost pleasure in giving them the tools to turn that potential into a reality.
As the local arts scene developed rapidly in the 1990s, so too did Edwin's interest in the performing arts. After his graduation from Oklahoma City University in Media and Communication Studies in 1993, he started Drama Arts in 1995 and actively conceptualised and scripted numerous school assembly plays.
Among his many writing and producing credits include A Chewy Affair (shortlisted for the Singapore International Film Festival) and My Name is Nadra staged at the Drama Centre in November 2000. Edwin has been at the head of Drama Arts ever since and has personally overseen hundreds of educational Drama initiatives in his long career.
Rosa is trained in the financial sector but due to a passion for the arts, she switched careers. Given an opportunity with Drama Arts Ltd in marketing an Israeli mime production entitled Hanoch Rosenn - The Prince Of Mime in 2003, Rosa has not looked back.
She is now an arts administrator cum arts outreach officer overseeing all the exposure shows touring in primary, secondary, junior colleges, institutes of technical education, polytechnics, stats boards and corporate companies. She is also overseeing all the drama workshops, experience and excursion programmes in schools.
